LullabyBe careful near the sea my darling,
The cloud's won't soften my tears,
The sweet morning sun will soon wake,
It's casting away our dark fears,
I heard your voice and then I cried,
I thought I saw your face in the mirror,
A simple warning to you my darling,
The ocean's still to be feared,
I can hear the pounding waves knocking,
If I'm not carefull on this night,
The Ocean may sway you still my darling,
I still wait for the sun's light,
You may lose the shine in your eyes,
Dimming the soft warmth of you my knight,
Slowly danger lurks closer underneath the sky,
Can you hear the shrieking ocean's waves?
I fear my resolve will break and I will fly,
You can run away now if you're awake,
May the ocean forever dry your tears,
My darling it's now ours to take,
You're dreaming now in it's soft embarace,
The sand's rough caress at your feet,
Now it's inviting you inside,
You're now gone and the horizon's passed us by,
The Ocean whispers in my ear,
Just come with me tonight,
Sleep now in my lullab
EasterRemember what you love,
you with sand in your teeth
and the feral burn of hunger
in your eyes.
God sends his regrets.
He made you grasping and slow,
in a late hour
when the wine washed low.
Remember what you love.
Fall to your knees in the toss
and the swell, quell
the appetite of the cold black sea.
Beg blessings for your home
and the salt-sick trees.
Reach what lies near:
the fat-faced child, the sweet-soft lamb;
tether the tantrum, trickle the blood.
Offer psalms to what is holy,
whisper the name of what you love
as it bobs in the bleak mad sea.
